TOURNAMENT RULES
1. Squads & Rules
a) A maximum squad of 12 registered playing persons per age/category is allowed.
b) Games will be six a side (inc GK).
c) Please note the different game times for the various groups.
d) No slide tackling, tackles from behind or through a player's legs.
e) A player “must not” back into an opponent.
f) Tackles from the side can be made ONLY when the ball is not under the players full control (the ball being free and therefore playable).
g) No direct shooting from the kick off (at least one pass is mandatory).
h) No wearing of jewellery or watches (including fit bit or similar).
There will be no grace time allowed for teams not at the field of play at the scheduled time of kick off. The opponent team will be awarded a 3 – 0 win for the game (sorry but time is tight).
2. Age & Category
Players must meet the age requirements of the group (category) they are playing in.
Team sheets must be submitted prior to the tournamentshowing the following:
a) Players names
b) Dates of birth
c) Players must only play in one category unless prior dispensation is applied for and approval is given.
Managers may apply in writing to seek dispensation to post@gaafotball-norge.no providing reasons for seeking dispensation.
3. Health & Wellbeing
3.1 All players must be fit and healthy for either travel or to take part in the tournament.
3.2 This must be confirmed on the team sheet by the manager at the time of submitting the team sheet to the IWFF.
3.3 Players who have had major surgery (in the last 6 Months) must produce a doctors certificate declaring them “Fit to Play”. The certificate must be submitted (in confidence) with the team sheet.
It is the managers responsibility to ensure the above checks are undertaken in order for the organisation to fulfil their duty of care.
4. Players equipment
4.1 No metal studded boots.
4.2 Shin guards mustbe worn.
5. Running (Not Walking)
5.1 Players must not runeither with the ball or off the ball.
5.2 A penalty kick is awarded to the opposition on the fourth accumulated not walking offence commited by a team. This team count is then reset to zero and the not walking offences will accumulate again.
5.3 Walking is defined as always having at least one foot in contact with the ground and relates to the motion of all players moving around the field of play.
6. Height Restriction
If, in the opinion of the referee, the whole of the ball goes above 6ft (1.82mtrs) from the ground or, above crossbar height (if playing to this law) the ball will always out of play. An indirect free kick will be awarded accordingly.
7. Goal Keepers
7.1 If the ball goes above head height from a goalkeeper’s save and into the goal, the goal is not allowed.
7.2 If the ball is deflected behind the goal and above the designated height restriction from a save or a block from the goalkeeper, the goalkeeper will retain possession of the ball.
7.3 When the ball rises above the designated height restriction resulting from a save or block performed by a goalkeeper, and returns into play, the goalkeeper will retain possession of the bal
7.4 The goalkeepers “must” roll the ball underarm or kick the ball to bring it back into play (no overarm or drop kicks).
8. Restricted back pass
After the goalkeeper has distributed the ball they can receive the ball back if:
8.2 The ball has been touched by at least two of their teammates (note – this is back pass)
8.3 The goal keepers are allowed to pick the ball up with their hands if it is passed back from a team mate.
8.4 The GK receives the ball whereby it has been touched by an opponent or, from a shot at goal, on this occasion they may pick the ball up by hand as it is not considered a “back pass”.
9. Ball in and out of play –the ball is in play at all times unless:
9.1 The referee stops the game
9.2 The whole of the ball crosses the line (side and goal lines)
9.3 The ball goes above the height restriction.
10. Free Kicks
All free kicks are indirect.
A goal cannot be scored from a free kick even if it deflects off another player .
11. Minimal Contact:Whereas some contact is expected If in the opinion of the referee:
11.1 Contact is minimal and appears accidental then play on
11.2 Contact appears careless and with too much force then a free kick is awarded (player may be warned)
11.3 Contact is reckless, irrespective of whether it’s minimal or forceful, then a free kick is awarded and potentially a blue or red card shown to the offender.
12. Penalty Kick
A penalty kick is awarded for the following offences:
12.1 A defending player deliberately enters their own penalty area
12.2 A goalkeeper deliberately exits their own penalty area or,
12.3 Subject to conditions set out in Law 20 below.
The player taking the penalty kick must be no more than 2 mtrs from the ball before taking the penalty kick .
13. Substitution
Substitutes may enter the court, at any time and repeatedly, without notifying the referee, as long as the players they are replacing have already left the court. The players involved in the substitution shall always leave and enter the pitch from their own team’s substitution area.
If a player enters the pitch before the player replaced not have left the pitch, the entering player shall be given a blue card.
14. Ball
Size 5 footballs.
15. Blue and Red Cards
15.1 One blue card and the player will be sent to the sin bin for 3 mins for either excessive contact with a player of the opposition, anything considered reckless or un- sportsman in the opinion of the referee.
15.2 Two blue cards and the player will be suspended for the remainder of that game – team must play a man down for the remainder of the game
15.3 Red cards will be issued for reckless or dangerous play, gross misconduct including foul and abusive language.
Depending on the severity of the situation any player who receives a red card may be disqualified for taking part in the remainder of the tournament. This decision will be made by the Referee Director following discussions with the match referee.
16. Discipline & Conduct
Players and spectators are expected to conduct themselves within the spirit of the tournament. Players dismissed from the game by the referee will be required to leave the playing area.
Severe misconduct abusive, harassing insulting or offensive will result in disqualification from the remainder of the tournament and depending on the circumstances if may be asked to leave the facility. Please note: this included visitors and spectators.
17. The Referee
The decisions of the referee regarding Laws of the Game are final. The decisions of the referee and all other match officials must always be respected.
18. Disputes and Arbitration
Should there be a dispute/complaint in case of misconduct, game forfeit etc, the technical group will meet and discuss the relevant issue or complaint.
18.1 the “Technical Group” will consist of 1 x IWFF Board Member, Referee Director and a representative from the host nation.
19. Goal Area
The line surrounding the goal area is deemed to be the goal area and no outfield player must stand or cross this line. Referees will review each situation and make a decision based on the following:
19.1 decide if this was caused by momentum or,
19.2 the player was trying to gain an unfair advantage.
20. Denying a Goal Scoring Opportunity
20.1 should the referee decide the essential criteria has been met and, the offender has clearly denied “a goal scoring opportunity” the referee will restart the game with and indirect free kick from where the offence occurred and,
20.2 the offending player will receive a temporary dismissal from the field of play (sin bin) for 3 minutes.
20.3 should the offence be of a serious nature where a red card will be issued, the player will be removed from the field of play for the remainder of that game (red card) and possibly other games dependant on the situation. In this instance the referee will restart the game with a penalty kick.
Group Standing
Game points will be awarded as follows:
Win = 3 points Draw = 1 point Loss = 0 points
In the event of a tie the following criteria will be used:
a) Points
b) Goal difference (total goals scored)
c) Point deduction for number of red cards issued.
